still life adventures and set up

ive been asked lots of time about my still life shots.here i will try  and explain the ins and outs   eqpt used  etc etc

firstly i will source some flowers etc  etc  and  prepare my  bottles lamps with  poster paints roughly the same color as the flowers

once these are painted im often in a hurry  so  dry with a paint stripper type hair dryer ,,setting  up the objects mainly on a black velvet back drop, pls note the plain  not  crushed as this reflects the light.  and one flash through a brolly

the flash eqpt i  use is very  cheap but  very reliable   settings as  1/600 th   f 9   for  example will produce  nice pleasing images  the   gx7  etc  as is any  digital camera with a hot  shoe  great  for this work

once all is done  a few  quick tweaks in  lightroom and photoshop    then you have the finished  image ,it  becomes a habbit collecting usefull props and a large storage area is recomended

well  hope this goes to help some one setting out  or just brushing up there still life skills regards peter
